I too am horrified by the Texas bill and the Supreme Court throwing up it’s hands as you put it. I would call myself a soft supporter of abortion rights; I understand the earnest ethical concerns of many religious, and the question of when life begins is a thorny one.
However: my support for the right to choose has hardened in the wake of this decision.

The right to choose was made when the choice to have unprotected sex was made. Ask any scientist if a single living cell represents life.
Only for singular cell organisms... and I'm pretty sure we're more advanced than an amoeba. But IANAS. :)
