Thank you for your report on the "Immigration" Issue, which is of great interest and concern to me. There is a mixture of things that I understand and others that make no sense to me at all. I don't mind admitting ignorance on the subject, I'm eager to learn.
Big "Numbers" always elude my understanding when it comes to what is "reasonable" expectation. I. wish someone could boil it down to more understandable terms (maybe compare a city or state and immigration into it, which would mirror on a small scale what our country, on a larger scale, is dealing with?). Any volunteers? It sure would paint a more understandable picture for me and others who share my puzzlement.
Another thing in relation to the immigration issue is how, during a Pandemic which is still being researched for deeper understanding and still exacting a daily death toil, can we be opening our borders to such massive numbers of people!? It makes no sense to me at all that we would risk the lives of American citizens by opening entry during these health-challenged time. Is there an effort to quarantine those coming in to insure they don't exacerbate the spread?
I am definitely a proponent of helping those fleeing from abusive home/governmental situations, but is wisdom being used in protecting our citizens? I don't want to come across as cold or uncaring because I certainly am not! My heart truly hurts for anyone in difficult situations and I do have a desire to help. As a citizen who has paid taxes to help build this country, I feel a right to express legitimate concerns while still desiring to help others.
I welcome any "enlightenment" you might have to share.
LOVE your "Blind-Spot" reporting AND below are my favorite quotes from your "Answer" to David in Athens, Georgia.
"I am not shy about the fact I have my own political leanings — my emphasis is that, like many Americans, my biases exist issue by issue, and don’t fit neatly into one party or the other."
"I’m not trying to tell you what to think or get you to land on one side or the other. There’s already enough of that in the media."
"— I’m loyal to good ideas and to being open-minded and honest about how I actually feel."
"We are a “complex mix of fact reporting and analysis” and “reliable for news but high in analysis/opinion content,” right on the cusp of pure “fact reporting.” "
And I always enjoy "A Story That Matters and Have A Nice Day"❣️
The bias chart really surprised me. So much so that it makes me question the reliability of the rest of the chart. I'm a regular reader of The Dispatch and Reason. It's laughable to me that you'd be considered further right than both of those.
This money quote really does resonate with what I've seen in your reporting:
"my biases exist issue by issue, and don’t fit neatly into one party or the other."
That really does encapsulate how most Americans I know feel as well. I believe there will always be some 'bias' in what stories are chosen and considered newsworthy/reliable vs fringe/crackpot. That said, Tangle does a great job of expanding that space even wider than most mainstream pubs.
Issac, another enjoyable issue of Tangle!

Keep up the great work, Isaac!

Just saw today's update. I'm glad to see the score has been updated and rescind my critique.
The idea that you're to the right of The Dispatch is crazy to me, and I read both religiously. Very curious how they calculated that!
