This was a great and very important piece that I will think about constantly for the next few days. Whenever my brain is idle I can only think, “where is that damn bull.”

I'm not saying we shouldn't dig into the Jan 6 mess more, but people like Pelosi & Schiff are about as objective as Jim Jordan, and it's going to be tough for anything coming out of that committee to be seen as credible.

The maneuverings by both sides are silly and annoying, but the Republicans shouldn't be exactly surprised by the situation they are in after refusing to play along with the earlier attempts at an investigation.

It's politics all the way down.

"80 had prior connections to organized extremist groups, and the FBI and Department of Homeland Security both received tips about detailed plans to storm federal buildings before the riots occurred." Surely, in addition to tips, the FBI and DHS also had infiltrators and CI's. Perhaps the commission should look at the role of the FBI and DHS in making this a "domestic terrorism" event. Cui bono?

To the best of my knowledge, there were no Democrats involved in the January 6 crimes. Perhaps that's why it seems like a partisan issue?

Thanks, Isaac, for providing links to articles that give context to your opinion of the Jan 6th Select committee. I believe the Republicans are looking for any way to keep their involvement with the violent protesters under wraps. But there are two sides to this story, and the articles from both sides were informative and help us see the political theater for what it is.
