Thank you for this interview.

The police “fishing for crimes” is problematic on so many levels. Imagine a realtor or a taxi-driver or a contractor or a surgeon harassing you or tempting into an error of judgment, a mistake, and then punishing you for being fooled. This is called fraud.

When the police do it, it’s still fraud.

The police need to stop harassing the poor.

Guess what? This is our government’s exact same tactic for dealing with other nations. That’s why our media is full of negative stories about poor nations like Nicaragua and Iraq—and empty of stories about rich nations like Austria and New Zealand.

The minute we stop policing altogether is the minute things improve.
